AskedOut Cookies & Trackers Notice

The short version
We don’t track you. The AskedOut mobile app contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK and no tracking identifiers, and it does not use cookies. The AskedOut website (askedout.com) is an informational site that uses no advertising, analytics or social-media cookies: only, at most, technical elements that are strictly necessary to display the site securely.
Because we only ever use what is strictly necessary, no cookie consent banner is required and none is shown (art. 82 of the French Data Protection Act; CNIL guidelines: strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent).
In the mobile app
The app stores data on your device solely to function:

None of this is shared with advertisers or data brokers, because there are none. The app makes network requests only to our own servers (api.askedout.com, hosted on AWS in the EU), to Apple (payments, push notifications and song previews via the iTunes Search API), and nowhere else.
On the website
askedout.com serves informational pages (including this notice and our legal documents). It sets no advertising, analytics, preference or social-media cookies. If strictly necessary technical cookies are ever used (for example, load-balancing or security cookies set by our infrastructure), they are exempt from consent under the CNIL’s guidelines and are deleted when no longer needed.
What we will do if this ever changes
If we ever introduce a cookie or tracker that requires consent (for example, audience-measurement beyond the CNIL’s exempted configuration), we will: (1) update this notice before the change goes live, (2) present a consent banner that lets you refuse as easily as accept, and (3) never make access to the app or site conditional on accepting non-essential trackers.

Controlling cookies in your browser
Because we set no optional cookies, there is nothing to configure on our side and no consent banner to manage. Your browser still gives you full control over cookies generally: every major browser lets you block or delete them in its privacy settings. Blocking cookies does not affect anything on askedout.com.
